Acoustic Wood Slat Panels Installation Instructions
Installation instructions:
Tools Needed:
- Saw (circular or normal)
- Screwdriver
- Black gypsum screws (35mm) for mounting the acoustic panels
- Optional small screws (15mm) for securing the lamellae when cutting the panels
- Ruler/measuring tape
- Pencil
- Knife
- Spirit level
Step 1: Preparation
- Clean the wall thoroughly with a cloth to ensure it's free of screws, nails, or any protrusions for a smooth surface.
- Measure and mark the placement of the panels on the wall.
- If needed, cut the panels to the required height using a circular saw or jigsaw. Draw a straight line with a pencil on the panel for accurate cutting.
- After cutting, reattach the slat ends by screwing them back into place with 15mm screws to ensure they are firmly secured. Repeat this for each slat.
Step 2: Installation
Option 1 - Glue Method:
- Prepare glue and evenly apply it to the felt side of the panels.
- Align the panels with the wall markings and press firmly to ensure even glue distribution.
- Hold the panels for 20-30 seconds, checking alignment using a spirit level.
Option 2 - Screw Mounting Method:
- Use 35mm black gypsum screws to attach the panels by driving them through the felt into the wall. Use about 15 screws per panel.
- Ensure that the panels are aligned so that joints are concealed. Maintain a 0.51" gap between slats for an optimal fit. Use a sample slat as a spacer if necessary.
Step 3: Adjusting Panel Width
- If needed, trim the panel's width at the end of the wall.
- Cut the felt side of the panel using a knife to fit the remaining space.
- Secure this last piece with gypsum screws through the felt into the wall.
Ensure to follow safety precautions when using tools like saws and knives. Always wear appropriate protective gear and work in a safe environment.
Adjustment of Panels for Flush Alignment (height-wise):
Due to the natural characteristics of the materials and the impact of long-distance shipping conditions, slight variations in the dimensions of the panels may occur. These variations can lead to discrepancies between slats vertical positioning.
If discrepancies are noted, carefully trim up 0.12" from the sides of the panels that will be joined together. This adjustment should be made only height-wise to achieve a flush and seamless appearance.
Note: These adjustments are typically minor but essential for achieving the best possible finish.

The WallTerra acoustic wood wall panels are designed exclusively for indoor applications.
In-stock products are typically shipped the same or the next business day and delivered within 2-4 business days for most states. You will be notified when your order is dispatched and provided with a tracking number.
Our panels are well-suited for these spaces if they're not directly exposed to water. We recommend applying a water-resistant finish to the front of the slats to safeguard them against moisture and humidity.
The consistent source of wood ensures a consistent look, although natural variations like knots, slight cracks, and colour differences can occur due to the natural nature of the wood.
Adapting the panels to fit around objects is straightforward. The slats can be cut widthwise using a saw, and the felt can be cut lengthwise with a sharp blade, enabling you to customize the fit around any items on your surface.
The panels are versatile and can be installed on a variety of surfaces, such as brick, concrete, and plasterboard.
